It's Here and It's Queer!
Butch Jamie is now on pre-sale from Wolfe Video! The DVD officially comes out on November 18th, but they're already taking orders. It'll soon be making its way to other retailers, but since it's so new, right now it's just at Wolfe and TLA Video (although if you do want to get a copy, I recommend using my link here to Wolfe because it's better for the filmmakers that way).
Wolfe is in the process of sending out press releases, so hopefully soon the film will get some good coverage. Festival activity will probably taper off after the release, but right now there are several upcoming screenings scheduled.
The cover art turned out a little differently than I had thought, but I like it - I think it looks like a fun movie. I'm also glad they were able to incorporate the photos of Lola and Jill. But guess who isn't on the cover? ...Howard! They had to get another cat, a "cat double," because none of the photos we took worked. I think this cat looks just like Howard, except the real Howard seems to have sort of a smile...

Lovely Ladies
In addition to Howard's photo shoot, we also did shoots with Olivia/Lola and Tiffany/Jill for the marketing of Butch Jamie's DVD release. The DVD hasn't made its appearance online yet as they're still working on the new cover art, but you can add it to your Netflix queue. For a long time the Netflix site said "availability unknown," but I just checked and it now says "Releases on DVD Nov 18, 2008." It's finally becoming real!
Olivia and Tiffany both live in Albany, so Leah (my producer and Howard's mom) did the shoot with them.
These photos are of Lola looking at and interacting with the cat (her hair is much shorter than in the movie - hopefully some Photoshop magic will be able to fix that).
This is Jill laughing at me with the cat.
And then there's me, with the cat. I don't have copies of my photo shoot, but hopefully soon I'll have the artwork to show you. Wolfe Video came up with a funny concept for the cover (let me guess, with the cat?), so I'm looking forward to seeing how it all comes together. Howard and I will definitely be on the cover, and I'm hoping they'll be able to use something from Lola's and Jill's shoot to put on the front as well.

Copy Cat
Wolfe Video has been busy finalizing the cover art for Butch Jamie's DVD, which will hopefully be up on their site soon. As I mentioned in my last post, Howard had his own photo shoot.
I wasn't there as Howard (real name Huey) lives in Upstate New York. I had his mom take some photos with him so that Wolfe could work some Photoshop magic and pose me and Howard together on the DVD cover.
Huey's Mom fosters other cats who need a temporary home before being adopted.
She recently took care of a litter of four kitties and ended up adopting a cute little black one named Frankie (she thought about adopting the orange one, but learned that black cats have a harder time getting adopted so she went for him instead).
When Frankie grows up, he wants to be just like his big brother -
